Laings of Glasgow was established in 1840. The firm has remained family owned since its start date. Originally the company was appointed clock-makers to the admiralty and timekeepers to the Clyde port authority.

Laings have been selling fine watches for so many years that their reputation for watches and horology stretches well beyond the boundaries of Glasgow, the UK and Europe. Customers worldwide have become customers of Laings of Glasgow.

Laings also have an exclusive jewellery side to the business where bespoke and branded jewellery and diamonds are on offer.

Stuart Laing heads up the fifth generation of the business and has also been a director of the SSIH for five years and served on a board with many of the top people in the trade such as Franco Cologni Cartier and Ronee Beyer of Geneva to name but a few. Stuart learned a great deal about the international watch trade in those years and his horological expertise is invaluable to his watch collecting clients. He is known to the entire watch industry and is respected by all who have worked with him.
